Increasing Your Creativity in the Workplace

Event Details

“Innovation” and “creativity” has become the biggest buzzwords in the last few years and has become one of the most sought after skills sets by employers.

But do you have what it takes to keep up with the creative demands of our digitizing world? And more importantly, do you know how to present your creative and innovative skills to your next employer?

Have you ever had been to a meeting or a brainstorming session at your company and just struggled to keep up? Your boss keeps saying “we need a creative solution,” “we need to be more creative,” and even asks you to “try to come up with some creative ideas” on the spot. But you find yourself drawing a blank and struggling to come up with “smart ideas” to share. If this is you, you’re not definitely not alone.

Creativity has always been a skill that has been valued, but only recently has it become one of the most in-demand skills in the workplace. According to the World Economic Forum’s The Future of Jobs report, creativity barely managed to slip into the list of top 10 most in-demand skills in 2015, but now, it has become one of the top 3.

But what exactly is the kind of creativity that our employers are looking for and more importantly, how can we actually achieve it? Join the Beijing Women’s Network on May 31st for a discussion on Cultivating Creativity in the Workplace. Our diverse group of panelists will leave you with a better understanding of what it means to be creative at work, and leave with some real, practical solutions that you can start implementing in your own workplace.

Join us so you can learn:
• How to identify the type of creativity your employer is looking for
• How to cultivate your own creativity even if you never felt creative
• How to be creative even if you do not have an art, music, dance, or design background
• How to manage the risks involved when exploring more creative ideas

Be ready to challenge your definition of creativity and to learn how to encourage your teams and colleagues to push the bounds of their creativity as well.

Every month the Beijing Women’s Network and JingJobs bring together experts from diverse backgrounds to empower young and mid-range professionals to build upon their professional skills at networks. If you are not yet a member of the Beijing Women’s Network on WeChat, please add wechat: samanthajingjobs and ask to be added into the groups.
