Join us to welcome and congratulate Ms. Heller in her new position at the Embassy, overseeing all State Department activities related to Public Affairs in China. Ms. Heller’s own China story began in the 80s when she worked at Dalian Institute of Technology. After subsequently working for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and NASA, Ms. Heller returned to China in 1992 on her first assignment with the United States Embassy in Beijing and has since had additional assignments in Shenyang, Taipei, Kyiv and Seoul.

As is tradition with our Courtyard events, the format will be rather intimate and interactive with a one-one-one conversation with Ms. Heller about her personal journey, as well as a chance for the audience to take part in the dialogue. There will be a wine and networking reception following the discussion.
We are pleased that Elizabeth Knup, Chief Representative of Ford Foundation in China will be moderating the discussion and can also share some of her own China story.
