Walk With A Pengyou: TOMS One Day Without Shoes | TOMS Shoes

Event Details

Join Project Pengyou and TOMS shoes on May 21st to walk with a Pengyou in support of TOMS One Day Without Shoes campaign, which brings awareness to the hardships of life without shoes, a sad reality for many children around the world. Register before May 18th to get exclusive TOMS gifts & prizes at the Art-jam event!

Project Pengyou is partnering with TOMS Shoes for the launch of their annual One Day Without Shoes campaign, a global push to build awareness about the difficulties of life without shoes by bringing together student groups from across the planet to simultaneously walk #withoutshoes and show support. This is TOMS inaugural year in China, and we are excited to offer the Pengyous network in Beijing and students US-China exchange programs a chance to take part!

On Thursday, May 21 we will walk with a Pengyou (#Pengyouswithoutshoes) from campuses across Beijing, convening in Wudaokou to raise awareness together. Living life without shoes greatly hinders a children’s access to education, healthcare, and more. There will also be a rare opportunity for Pengyous to meet TOMS founder, Blake Mycoskie and connect with new Pengyous from other study abroad programs and universities!

Register Before May 18th to get exclusive TOMS gifts & prizes at the Art-jam event!

Toms
THE TOMS STORY: While traveling in Argentina in 2006, TOMS Founder Blake Mycoskie witnessed the hardships faced by children growing up without shoes. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a new pair of shoes for a child in need. One for One®. What began as a simple idea has evolved into a powerful business model that helps address need and advance health, education and economic opportunity for children and their communities around the world. We’ve given over 35 million pairs of shoes to children in need, teaching us 35 million lessons. Since 2006, people like you have helped us achieve this amazing number – and it’s leading to bigger and better things, like giving different types of shoes based on terrain and season, or creating local jobs by producing shoes in countries where we give.

**TOMS® Shoes are always given to children through humanitarian organizations who incorporate shoes into their community development programs. TOMS® Shoes giving partners in China include Heifer International ChinaSave the Children, World Vision, Stanford REAP andYouChange. (See TOMS China link for Chinese site)
