Xi Jinping: The Man, The Myth, The Party

Event Details

Rather than taken in isolation, Xi is better viewed as a creature of the Party; the new phase of Chinese politics we are witnessing is not solely his doing. This presentation will assess several common narrative frameworks for analysing the current Chinese leadership, which often spotlight Xi’s role in the PRC’s policy trajectory while underplaying other factors, to provide a more complete context for Xi’s actions.
