Join us September 11 at 10am at CSIS for a lecture, in Chinese, with renowned intellectual Yu Keping. Prof. Yu will be speaking on the current state and future of modernizing China’s state governance. He is a leading expert on this issue, and this is an event not to be missed!
Following the third and fourth plenum decisions, modernizing China’s state governance has become a top priority for Chinese leadership. This raises a number of important questions. What steps need to be taken? How will these likely proceed? How will the current economic situation affect those efforts? Professor Yu Keping is deputy director of the Central Compilation and Translation Bureau and director of the Bureau’s China Center for Comparative Politics & Economics (CCCPE). He is also director of the Center for Chinese Government Innovations at Peking University. Previously he was a New World Senior Fellow at Harvard’s Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation. Professor Yu is an influential scholar in the fields of political reform, globalization, democracy, civil society, and good governance in China.
