Summary

Calvin College is a liberal arts college located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Founded in 1876, Calvin College is an educational institution of the Christian Reformed Church and stands in the Reformed tradition of Protestantism.

Calvin has its own semester-long program in China, offered every fall semester. This program is located at the Capital Normal University in Beijing. Students can choose from two different tracks in this program. They may either take an intensive course in Chinese language (eight credits) as well as three consecutive courses in Chinese history and culture, namely "Traditional Chinese Civilization," "Modern China," and  "Emerging China" (eight credits). Students may also choose to concentrate more fully on the Chinese language (twelve credits) and in addition take a course in "Emerging China" and participate in field trips (three credits).
