Academics and excursions are designed to integrate students into the local environment, and CET is the only US provider to house its students with local roommates in each of its locations. The program strives to maintain the highest academic standards. Curricula are creatively designed with the assistance of CET Academic Advisory Boards, and courses are taught by experienced local faculty. CET students are eager to improve their cultural and communicative competence and embrace the academic challenges necessary to get them there.
CET is an environmentally conscientious organization. It adopts locally appropriate measures in its centers worldwide to reduce its carbon footprint and contribute to sustainable practices wherever possible. CET respects the needs, culture and customs of the local hosts. It actively seeks opportunities for students and staff to “give back” to the local community and leads them to create lasting relationships with their local hosts.
CET believes in making study abroad opportunities accessible to all students and prides itself on diversity, opening its doors to academically qualified students of all races, religions, origins, abilities, gender identities and sexual orientations. The company helped found the Fund for Education Abroad, an organization that provides study abroad scholarships to underrepresented students. Although CET is a for-profit company, it does not place profits above other principles.
