Program Coordinator Intern
The Asia Institute was founded in 2006 by connecting the four key sectors of society (private, public, not-for-profit and education) through a partnership network with a mission to build the leading education platform connecting Asia with the rest of the world. Over the past nine years, the Asia Institute has worked with over 2500 students and faculty, and has quickly become a leading host partner for many educational institutions in areas such as short-term programs, student recruitment, experiential learning, faculty exchange, and career development.
Qualifications: 1. Studying for Bachelor of Arts/Science (or equivalent) from an accredited university
2. Strong communication skills (English required/Chinese preferred), responsibly and trustworthy, accountable for work produced
3. Experience working with faculty and students from U.S. universities (preferred)
4. Experience studying and living abroad for at least six months (preferred)
Position Summary: Responsible for daily management of on-the-ground programs of the Asia Institute in the U.S. during the summer, including management and oversight of group logistics, meeting management and communication, meal preparation with restaurants, securing admissions tickets where required, coordinating adjustments with Asia Institute partners, budget management during the program, and daily engagement and communication with working age student participants. In addition, applicant must be willing and able to work independently and highly motivated, goal oriented and accountable for poor performance.
Position Goal: High attention to detail with minimal errors. Commitment to learning quickly, high quality work produced, and continuous improvement. High received performance scores from student participants involved.
Compensation: The Asia Institute will provide weekly compensation to student interns. This internship may lead to a full-time employment position with the Asia Institute, if work ethic and work produced are at a strong level.
