CIEE is looking to hire part time faculty to teach courses in the following programs during Fall 2018 semester:

Requirements 

 Advanced academic qualification in the relevant field

 English native speaker or equivalent language proficiency

 At least one year teaching experience with American college students

 Eligible for employment in China 

 

Responsibilities 

Each Adjunct Professor is responsible for teaching one of the following three-credit content courses in English.  

 

 ENVI 3003 BJCH / POLI 3004 BJCH: Environmental Conditions and Public Perception in Contemporary China of Sustainable Development program and Intensive Chinese Learning in the fall of 2018. 

 ENVI 3002 BJCH: Sustainability in Context of Sustainable Development program in the fall of 2018. 

 ANTH 3002 BJCH / CMBL 3001 BJCH: Service Learning of Sustainable Development program in the fall of 2018.  

 

The SD program will start on Sept. 4th, 2018 and end on Dec. 22nd, 2018. The ICL program will start on Sept. 4th, 2018 and end on Dec. 15th, 2018. The first class should take place within the first week of the semester.  

 

Each course will meet for a total of 45 contact hours per credit, with each contact hour typically being a 50-minute class session, but may include one or more fieldtrips as permitted by the semester schedule. CIEE will provide class syllabi. 

 

In addition, all CIEE adjunct faculty members are expected to work together with the Site Director of the Study Center, with assistance from the CIEE Coordinator to: 

 

 Provide final syllabi and course readers to students on the first day of classes;

 Post and hold one office hour during each week of instruction, or hold office hours by appointment and communicate regularly with students by email or phone as necessary;

 Return student coursework within one or two weeks following the submission deadline stated in the course syllabus;

 Keep weekly student attendance records and notify CIEE when a student has missed more than three classes;

 Keep records of student performance and grades, based on course requirements stated in the syllabus.

 Submit digital and signed copies of the CIEE Course Grade Report and scanned copies of the graded assignments within two weeks following the last day of class.
