The Associate Network Director, Greater China, supports the three ECN Greater China Network Directors (NDs) in their editorial and business activities.

As the research and analysis division of the Economist Group, The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) helps leaders prepare for opportunity, empowering them to act with confidence when making strategic decisions. The EIU is the global standard in providing quality, actionable intelligence to the public and private sector, assessing issues that impact the marketplace for over two hundred countries.

Accountabilities:

In the role you would be expected to:

  • Support the three ECN Greater China NDs in creating and delivering the ECN meeting programmes in Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong.
  • Support the three ECN Greater China NDs for their personal briefings to clients.
  • Support the three ECN Greater China NDs and the business development team to retain existing members, to attract new members and to develop value-added customised services for members.
  • Ensure that all costs are managed in line with budget.
 

Experience, skills and professional attributes:

To succeed in the role you must have:

  • Masters degree in economics or a related discipline
  • Experience in managing an editorial operation in an international environment
  • Experience of writing political or economic analysis and forecasting
  • In depth regional knowledge
  • A proven ability to convey ideas and opinions coherently and with authority.
  • An ability to interact with credibly with senior executives
  • Good MS Word and Excel

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Exceptional communications and writing skills
  • Sound numerical skills
