    Job purpose:
    Foreign-invested companies are facing an increasingly complex regulatory environment, and we are looking for an energetic policy analyst to join our dynamic team and play a key role in our efforts to translate these policy shifts into actionable insights. The policy analyst will be responsible for driving AmCham China’s Policy+ subscription Service. Policy+ features a unique combination of premium-level services including: customized dialogues with members, policy makers, and influencers around timely topics; macro and industry-specific policy insights to support members’ strategies and decision-making; and access to government officials and policy experts.

    Working location and time:
    Beijing, 9:00-17:30, Monday- Friday

    • Provide entrepreneurial leadership in a collaborative, non-hierarchical setting focused on serving members through a passionate team committed to insights, quality and service excellence
    • Contribute meaningfully to the strategy, detailed design and seamless delivery of the Policy+ service offering, working in collaboration with Government Affairs colleagues, Member Services, Communications, Membership and other AmCham China teams
    • Provide policy insights on a regular, timely basis to support members with the formulation of their business strategies, approaches to government engagement, and responses to China’s current and potential policies and policy environment
    • Enable member access to government officials and policy experts to discuss and engage in topics of common interest to Policy+ members, with support from AmCham China colleagues
    • Design dialogues (events) with members, policy makers, and influencers around timely topics of interest to some or all Policy+ members, in neutral settings
    • Develop AmCham China branded thought leadership, typically with partners, on topics of relevance to Policy+ members and designed for public distribution
    • Prepare and co-deliver customized briefings delivered by AmCham China and/or experts to Policy+ members’ China and global executives
    • Support AmCham China’s advocacy efforts on behalf of members, in collaboration with other Government Affairs colleagues on an ad hoc basis
  • Requirements:

    Qualifications:
    • University degree and at least 2 years of post-college full-time employment in a role requiring strong analytic, writing, organizational and communication skills (non-Chinese applicants must also be at least 25 years of age prior to position start date for Chinese work permit purposes) 
    • Master’s degree in a relevant major/discipline highly preferred 
    • Candidates from industry/policy research, consulting, or journalism backgrounds encouraged to apply
    • Exceptional writing and editorial skills, demonstrated in a fast-paced work environment
    • Appreciation for quality and detail gained in a rigorous academic and work environment
    • Critical thinker with strong analytic skills; able to derive conclusions from incomplete information
    • General knowledge of economics, policy and business issues and trends in China
    • Native English or Chinese speaker with exceptional written command of the English language and ability to conduct research and communicate in Chinese
    • Ability to engage with senior corporate executives and US and Chinese government officials
    • Ability to function in a diverse, multi-cultural organization with a high-performance culture
    • Strong competence in MS Office and other programs, especially Word and PowerPoint
    • Willingness to commit to working in Beijing for a minimum of two years
