Job Title: Program Coordinator, Short-Term Exchange Program

We are seeking a full-time Program Coordinator to work with our Short-Term Exchange program staff. The Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting Short-Term Exchange program in planning, executing and implementing programs which include field trips, group activities, out of state tours. This position requires some late hours to cover evening communication with overseas offices and to work with groups on ground during the peak season. 

Primary Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and perform other duties as assigned.

 

Administration (45%)

·         Communicate with overseas offices (mainly China and Korea) on a regular basis

·         Communicate with school program point of contact on a regular basis

·         Serve as a liaison with schools regarding student/group performance and program effectiveness

·         Support sales team to answer program itinerary related questions to their clients

·         Monitor program expenditures ensuring that budget allocations are adhered to

                ·         Provide feedback to short-term exchange program design and business development teams based on client experience and program implementation 

Operation (50%)

·         Plan, organize and implement program related activities and tours

·         Communicate with vendors to arrange transportation, meals, accommodation, classrooms, restaurants, touring and other logistics as needed for groups

·         Develop and schedule program activities in accordance with specifications and budget limitations

·         Coordinate, monitor, and/or supervise the activities of assigned temp staffs/interns/volunteer

                ·         Serve as primary point of contact for onsite support, including communicating with chaperones, students, schools and tour companies 

Other (5%)

·         Serve as an interpreter, tour guide and/or driver to clients as needed

                ·         Translate program materials as needed

                ·         Recruit host families, conduct background check and site visit as needed 

Education and Experience Requirement:

                ·         Bachelor’s degree

                ·         Minimum of 2 years of experience in program operation and development

                ·         Minimum of 2 years of experience working with a diverse group of youth ages 9-18 

Required skills and abilities

                ·         Ability to work overtime during the peak season and under high pressure

                ·         Ability to drive

                ·         Ability to travel and stay onsite in hotels or college dorms with groups during programs

                ·         Ability to work independently as well as to function effectively and collaboratively in a team environment

                ·         Ability to monitor, analyze, consult and report on programs and services

                ·         Advances organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks

                ·         Proficient with computer applications

                ·         Fluent Chinese skills

Desires qualifications

                ·         Knowledge of inbound short-term exchange program

                ·         Ability to provide training to various-sized groups

                ·         Strong written and verbal communication skills

                ·         US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Compensation:  The compensation is competitive, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
