Job Description

The Brookings-Tsinghua Center for Public Policy (BTC) at Foreign Policy at Brookings is seeking part-time Spring 2016 Interns to assist with research projects, events, and administrative and outreach activities.

The internship is based in Beijing, China, and will last from February 22 to June 30. Please note that all internships are unpaid.

Responsibilities

  • Daily tasks will include:
  • Researching issues pertaining to specific projects and activities
  • Conducting quantitative and qualitative data evaluation
  • Summarizing and synthesizing documents
  • Maintaining contact databases
  • Monitoring current developments in relevant research areas
  • Attending events
  • Briefing senior fellows and support staff.

Qualifications

  • Qualified applicants will have a demonstrated interest in one or more of the following areas:
  • the intersection of foreign policy, climate change, clean energy, urbanization, economics, and development issues.
  • Experience with event and conference organization preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills both in English and Chinese fluency required
  • Detail-oriented and the ability to efficiently multitask with minimal supervision
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with the use of electronic media required.
