Mandarin9 is a new education platform created to dispel the myth that Chinese is difficult for Western countries to learn. By combining situational learning, personalized tutoring and classroom settings we provide a cross-functional, holistic and immersive learning experience.

Job Description

Working collaboratively with other creative team members, the Visual designer works with the Design and Creative leads and will be responsible for implementing elements of marketing, product and digital media, delivering high quality, on-brand visuals for Mandarin9’s product and other design initiatives. 

Job Responsibilities 
Collaborate with other members of the creative team in a start-up environment 

Take ownership of and execute projects as determined by creative leads

Proficient design in all elements of product and UX design 

Replicate and expand upon the vision established by creative leads


Assist in the execution of digital platform and marketing materials as needed 

Design and produce multimedia for use on website, applications, traditional marketing and presentations

Maintain and follow best practices for versioning control, naming convention and organization of graphic files and archiving 



 

Requirements 
As our visual designer, your responsibilities will include areas of design such as typography, iconography, color, space and texture. You will use your knowledge, expertise and skills in all these fields to help our users successfully navigate and become comfortable with our products.

·       Excellent creative eye, with demonstrated experience designing and building creative logos, product and UX, and typography

·       3-7 years as a visual designer in traditional and digital media

·       Excellent time management skills and the ability to work well under tight deadlines

·       Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team

·       Adobe Creative Suite CC

·       Photoshop

·       InDesign

·       Illustrator

·       After Effects is a bonus

·       Present the user-interface visually so that information is easy to read, easy to understand and easy to find.

·       Generate clear ideas, concepts and designs of creative assets from beginning to end.

·       Work collaboratively with other designers to ensure a consistent, integrated brand perception and user-experience.

·       Collaborate with a cross-functional team that includes engineers, product managers in order to create simple, easy-to-use software.

·       Translate client business requirements, user needs, technical requirements into designs that are visually enticing, easy to use, and emotionally engaging.

·       Staying in the loop and on top of the latest standards, changes, trends in visual design field.

·       Interpreting storyboards to tell visual stories that support learning.
