MyH20 is now recruiting undergraduates and recent graduates for the fall/winter term. We will be selecting 10 teams to help survey water quality across China. Individual applicants may apply to join one of our existing water testing teams. 【Project Schedule】 The first term will take place from October to December. The second term will take place from January to March. 【Duties and Expectations】 Testing water quality. Training will be provided. Participants will learn preliminary tests to verify potable water. This includes knowing where to locate key measurement points along a waterway, how to run the procedures to test water, and the technical skills required to use water measurement tools. Survey local water condition and systems. Teams will interview locals on the conditions of the water quality and drinking habits. Team will also map out how the water systems operate in the local district. A final report and data analysis will be expected. The results of the report will be collected into the MyH2O database to be used in the our water network system platform. Upon the completion of the program, team members will be an important part of the water quality monitoring network across colleges and universities at home and abroad, adding a new H2O molecule to a big wave of change!
【Team Requirements】 Team leader must be a recent graduate or in the process of attaining an undergraduate degree. The team leader must set up a team and ensure the team’s tasks are completed in a timely manner. Teams with a background in environmental science studies will have priority. However, all fields of study are more than welcome to apply! Teams with multimedia hobbies and expertise, are also very encouraged. 【Qualifications of team members】 Have a passion for environmental protection; Sustainable development, environment and water resources professional background is preferred; Team management, project management, project evaluation experience is preferred; Strong analytical and document writing ability, and planning and innovative thinking ability; Fluent in writing and communication skills in both English and Chinese; Able to work independently and teamwork spirit
【Pay and Compensation】 Measuring Utilities Fee: Measurement utilities will be provided. This includes: 7 unification of measuring water bag, including pH, TDS, COD, ammonia nitrogen, nitrate, hexavalent chromium, iron and other routine index. Self fundraising: MyH2O team encourage teams to run their own fundraising activities as necessary to complete project objectives. We will provide guidance and recommendations on fundraising. Prize Money: We provide two additional funding opportunities! The first opportunity is during the initial project proposals. Outstanding teams will receive bonuses of up to 800 yuan at start of the project. The second opportunity is during the final water report when the project is completed. Each team has the opportunity to receive an additional award bonuses. The top 3 teams in the 2015-2016 term will be selected by MyH2O.
