Project Pengyou and TOMS Collaboration: Walk Barefoot with Pengyous on May 21!

Walk with Pengyous on May 21 for the One Day Without Shoes Campaign!

Project Pengyou is collaborating with TOMS Shoes for the China launch of their annual TOMS One Day Without Shoes campaign! This is the inaugural year that TOMS is bringing this global campaign to China and is partnering with Project Pengyou to bring together university students in China to walk #withoutshoes for a good cause. Project Pengyou is also excited to invite pengyous across the US and China to take part in the online campaign!

This campaign is a global push to build awareness about the difficulties of life without shoes by bringing together people (students, professionals, celebrities and more!) from across the planet to walk #withoutshoes in solidarity and help children in need. Living life without shoes greatly hinders a children’s access to education, healthcare, and overall job opportunities.

THE TOMS STORY:

While traTomsveling in Argentina in 2006, TOMS Founder Blake Mycoskie witnessed the hardships faced by children growing up without shoe
s. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a new pair of shoes for a child in need. One for One®. What began as a simple idea has evolved into a powerful business model that helps address need and advance health, education and economic opportunity for children and their communities around the world. We’ve given over 35 million pairs of shoes to children in need, teaching us 35 million lessons. Since 2006, people like you have helped us achieve this amazing number – and it’s leading to bigger and better things, like giving different types of shoes based on terrain and season, or creating local jobs by producing shoes in countries where we give.

**TOMS® Shoes are always given to children through humanitarian organizations who incorporate shoes into their community development programs. TOMS® Shoes giving partners in China include Heifer International ChinaSave the Children, World Vision, Stanford REAP andYouChange. (See TOMS China link for Chinese site)
