Project Pengyou Chapters Kick Off 2016

The Project Pengyou Leadership Network kicked off 2016 with our first national call of the year connecting Project Pengyou Chapter leaders from coast to coast. Project Pengyou HQ hosts monthly calls with the whole chapter network to hear chapter updates, share best chapter building practices and discuss upcoming campaigns. With Chapter leaders from over 20 campuses joining this kick off call, it was inspiring to hear everyone’s updates and plans for the semester and made everyone excited to take on 2016 with enthusiasm!

Next month, Project Pengyou Chapters are gearing up for our national campaign, Pay it Forward on Chinese New Year (PIFOCNY). Project Pengyou Chapters will “adopt a school” in their community to celebrate Chinese New Year, share China stories and inspire kids to learn about China and Chinese! Stay tuned for more information on PIFOCNY events across the country.

Project Pengyou Chapters are school-based groups of American and Chinese students who have lived or studied in both countries, led by trained Leadership Fellows. Chapter leaders serve as advocates for fighting xenophobia and promoting collaboration, inclusion and mutual understanding between Americans and Chinese on their campuses and in their communities. All Chapters in the national network organize events and activities that develop US-China competence and friendship.
