We are proud to announce our new class of Fall 2017 Project Pengyou Leadership Fellows!

This year, we welcomed all students who have experience in both the US and China to apply. We received such an outpouring of enthusiasm and many excellent applications from Americans, Chinese and more. Thank you to everyone who took the time and effort to apply. We received so many thoughtful and passionate applications and it gives us so much hope for the future of U.S.-China bridge building. Our finalists come from 24 states, 43 schools, and 4 different countries.

This September, we’ll return to Harvard where it all began to meet our fifth cohort of US-China bridge builders and leaders – introducing the Fall 2017 Project Pengyou Leadership Fellows!

The Leadership Training Summit is comprised of four days of intensive and hands-on learning covering tools needed to lead a strong chapter: leadership, organizing, action and U.S.-China bridge-building. Fellows will have hands on experience with building relationships, recruiting, strategizing, empowerment, and other leadership skills. Upon completion of the training, our leadership fellows will return to their high schools and universities to build their own Project Pengyou Chapters.

Project Pengyou Chapters are student organizations at US high schools, colleges and universities built by Americans and Chinese who have lived and/or studied in both countries. They serve as advocates to fight xenophobia and promote inclusion, collaboration and mutual understanding between Americans and Chinese. Led by trained Project Pengyou Leadership Fellows, these hubs of constructive and empathetic US-China exchange hold discussions, activities, and campaigns that develop cross-cultural competence, leadership and friendship.
