APSA visits Project Pengyou

This week Americans Promoting Study Abroad stopped by the Project Pengyou courtyard.

Here as part of the China Scholars Program of APSA, the group of enterprising high school students sat in for a presentation by Chief Pengyou Holly Chang on the roots of Project Pengyou and its overall mission.

Even though the students hail from various cities across the United States, they all exhibit high leadership potential and excellent community service on top of a strong academic record. The scholars visited Project Pengyou as part of an ongoing effort to learn more about community service and NGOs in China.

During the presentation the students displayed their inquisitive and driven nature, sharing impressions of their experience thus far and asking Holly many questions about hers, both personally and as founder of Project Pengyou. They ranged from the broad (“What is the biggest challenge you face in creating the dialogue between China and America?” and “How do you balance your personal and professional life”) to the more specific (“Can you access ProjectPengyou.org in China” (Answer: Yes)).

We wish our new friends at APSA a wonderful remainder of their stay in Beijing, and look forward to see them again soon!
