Learn Chinese, Have Fun

Concordia Language Villages, a network of language immersion camps dispersed across Northern Minnesota, focus on fostering global citizenship in youth through language and cultural immersion. For kids from age 6 to 18, Sen Lin Hu (SLH) is a great introduction to Chinese language and culture (Project Pengyou’s very own Community Engagement Manager, Devin, gives a great deal of credit to Sen Lin Hu and Concordia language villages for cementing a love of Chinese early during her Mandarin study).

Chinese New Year Scholarship Competition

Additionally, there is special Chinese New Year scholarship competition specifically for Sen Lin Hu! To enter, you will need to send an essay or video responding to one of three topics listed on this entry form.  Applicants will also be asked to submit a recommendation from a teacher, coach, mentor, or other community leader. Winners will receive a tuition voucher for $2,255 for a four-week program, $1,030 for a two-week program or $480 for a one-week program.

To enter, villagers must register and pay a deposit for a summer 2017 program at Sēn Lín Hú as well as complete the entry form. Entries must be submitted no later than March 1, 2017.

Be a Counselor

To old for summer camp but still want to be involved? For high school seniors or undergraduates, working at the language villages is a great way to put your language skills into practice and pay-it-forward to the next generation by inspiring kids to learn Chinese.
