I’m what you call a foreign service brat. Being raised with a father in the foreign service, I’ve had to move every time he gets a new assignment, always in a different continent.
Growing up, I found it hard to converse with my elders. I would get extremely shy.
Held on a Thursday during the State Department’s International Education Week, our inaugural Pengyou Day was a rousing success. With the help of our nationwide Project Pengyou chapter teams as well as our signature partners, Asia Society and the Committee of 100, we celebrated building friendships between Americans and Chinese while trying to deepen engagement and mutual understanding through the launch of simultaneous events across the country!

For the second time we returned to Harvard bringing together over forty exemplary young Americans to participate in the Project Pengyou Leadership Fellow Training Summit and join the Pengyou mission by building chapters at their home institutions.
