Congratulations to our Leadership Fellow, Leslie Martinez, for winning the Global Citizen Award at TAMIU!
Our Leadership Fellow, Leslie Martinez received an award from her school, Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) called the Global Citizen Award, in the category of Connecting Cultures! She was rewarded for her efforts founding the Project Pengyou TAMIU Chapter on campus along with her co-founder, Jorge Dimas. The TAMIU Chapter is the first one in Texas, and has been very successful this year generating interest on campus to study abroad and learn about China! Leslie expresses her gratitude to all the Pengyous that have supported her along the way:
“…Thank you… All of this wasn’t a ONE person effort. This was a collaboration between all my Pengyous across the country (and in China) Jorge, and all the TAMIU Pengyous that have believed in the vision of U.S.- China Bridge Building.”
See some of their semester highlights below:
Great job Leslie and all of our Pengyous at TAMIU! We are so proud of you, and we hope this will be among the first of many achievements you will reach together and with your community in Laredo! Jia you!
