“Re-defining the American Dream in China”: Perspectives and Reflections From Working ABC’s 

U.S. Embassy’s Beijing American Center – 4pm, Saturday (8/24)

 

With the rapid rise of China in the 21st century, Chinese Americans are returning in droves to their ancestral home to benefit from and contribute to China’s development. This panel will focus on the “reverse migration” phenomenon for Chinese Americans. Topics explored on the panel will include:

  • Identity issues (ethnicity, gender, age, culture)
  • Motive for coming to China
  • How are Chinese Americans viewed in their respective industries?
  • Is there a “comparative advantage” being Chinese American in an increasingly competitive workplace?
  • Tips on being successful in China’s changing economy
