Oscar Niezen, an expert in modern horticulture and food production in Asia, offers insight into vegetable safety in China, world food problems, and consumer awareness. In his talk, he addresses how green and sustainable high-tech greenhouses are, and why 100% “organic” vegetable productions in soil can’t solve the world’s food problems.
In China, vegetable safety has become a hot topic, with consumers gaining stronger awareness of what they are eating. “Organic vegetables” that are grown in the soil has become a trend. The following subtopics will be addressed in this month’s speech:
1.How green and sustainable high-tech greenhouse is.
2.Why 100% “organic” production in the soil can not solve the world’s food problems in the coming decades.
