Event Details
Navy Pier will host an afternoon of dance, music, and martial arts performances. Featuring the best of Chicagoland’s students and professionals keeping traditional Chinese arts alive, the Grand Ballroom will be transformed into a festive marketplace filled with vendors, craftsmen, and activities appropriate for all ages.
The Chinese Fine Arts Society is a Chicago-based non-profit dedicated to promoting the appreciation of Chinese culture, enhancing cultural exchange, and pursuing excellence in Chinese music, dance, and visual arts. This event is free to the public.
In addition, we would need several (at least 12-15) volunteers to perform a wide variety of tasks including arts and crafts with kids, facilitating backstage and front of house, assisting staff, crowd control, stage set-up/take down, and other tasks as assigned. Volunteers should plan on being at the event at least an hour before and after the event (12 to 6), AND/OR at the setup day, Friday February 23rd. Please let us know which days you are willing and able to help out on. You are encouraged to stay for longer periods of time, due to the large scale of the event, but we understand if you need to go by shifts instead (12-3, 3-6).
