NEXTDoc Film Festival is initiated by a group of young returnees from U.S. with rich experience of living overseas and being exposed to different cultures. NEXTDoc focuses on projects about cross-cultural stories and is dedicated to bringing documentary films from different cultures to its audience.

The Men Talking Nonsense 

There are three artistic young men—poet, writer, and screenwriter, who don’t know one another, living a hippie life in modern society. They started literary creation since middle school times and had numerous masterpieces over years. However, they are living a totally different life from the urban professional writer, with difficulty and without plan since they are unknown, eccentric and marginalised. The film based on their daily life, creation and love story and presented the loss of control, the reform of situation and the new balance established in the end. In the social prospect, they are boomerang children, without ambition while considering one’s genuine conscience, they never give up what they aspire after none compromise to the reality.

US 

“US” recorded the first wave of study abroad and the Chinese people’s life and story in the United States . Over one and half year, walker studio worked in the United States, across the east to the west coasts. Through their lens, recorded the real Chinese student life in the United States, hoping to encourage young people who dream to fight. If you have a dream, be sure to pursue, no matter how old are you, no matter where you are, no matter how long.

National Beauty 

The world-acclaimed China Oriental Song and Dance Troupe was presented by my organization San Marino Lions Club and we were invited backstage where the director filmed a special backstage documentary.

From Beijing to New York 

New York is one of the largest and most diverse cultural melting pots in the world and Beijing Opera, a traditional Chinese performing art, has found it’s new renascence across the Pacific to the Big Apple. The New York Chinese Opera Society’s Beijing Opera Youth Troupe is the sprout of Beijing Opera. Chinese college and graduate students formed this NGO GROUP and they rehearse plays and organize lectures every single week and they preform for free almost every month in various locations like Pace universities and Queens library. This is the story about them and their passion for Beijing Opera.
