The Future of U.S.-China Relations Post-Election Day | Foreign Correspondents Club of China

Event Details

The Trump administration will face substantial security and economic challenges in the Asia Pacific region with the situation in the South China Sea and renewed negotiations on the Bilateral Investment Treaty and Trans-Pacific Partnership. Donald Trump will also likely face early tests in the region, particularly from the development of North Korea’s nuclear program. In the midst of these areas of contention, the United States will also need to find ways to capitalize on the economic and trade opportunities in the Asia-Pacific. Veteran U.S.-China expert Douglas H. Paal will provide insight into how the next administration should approach these issues.
