In this talk, Peking University professor Jiang Guohua will analyze the history of China’s stock market, explaining some fundamental issues that have an impact on the development of stock market, in particular, and capital market, in general, and stock investing in China.

Emerging from a planned/state-controlled economy and after the economic reform and open door policy of 1978, China launched its stock market in 1990. Other parts of the capital market followed closely. In this talk, Peking University professor Jiang Guohua will analyze the history of China’s stock market, explaining some fundamental issues that have an impact on the development of stock market, in particular, and capital market, in general, and stock investing in China. He will also briefly comment on the current turbulence as well.
