US-China Relations: Insights from Susan Shirk | AmCham China

Event Details

As the first 100 days of Trump presidency came to close, it is time to reassess the direction of US China relations and Trump’s China policy.

What are the latest policy updates?
What is the status of US-China relations post Mar-a-Lago summit?
What are the implications for American companies doing business in China?

Join AmCham on May 18 at 2pm for a deeper understanding and discussion on above mentioned topics.

We’re honored to invite Susan Shirk, one of the most influential experts on China, to share her views and insights on recent developments regarding Sino-US relations.

Dr. Shirk is the research professor and chair of the 21st Century China Center at UC San Diego. She recently co-chaired the Task Force on U.S.-China Policy, organized by the 21st Century China Center at UC San Diego’s School of Global Policy and Strategy and Asia Society’s Center on U.S.-China Relations, to formulate and discuss expert recommendations for the Trump administration. She previously served as deputy assistant secretary of state (1997-2000), responsible for U.S. policy toward China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Mongolia and she founded and continues to lead the Northeast Asia Cooperation Dialogue, an unofficial forum for discussions of security issues.
