The Hopkins-Nanjing Center is Now Offering Special Scholarships for Project Pengyou Chapter Builders!

We are thrilled to announce that our partners at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center (HNC) will now offer up to $10,000 in scholarships to Project Pengyou Chapter builders who attend the program! The HNC is a bilingual graduate program based at Nanjing University and has been a hugely successful for over three decades. This prestigious program is truly a one-of-kind opportunity for young Chinese and American leaders to hone their language skills in a fully-immersive environment while simultaneously preparing to be cross-cultural leaders in business, politics, and many other sectors.

We are honored to have worked closely with Johns Hopkins SAIS and the Hopkins-Nanjing Center since 2013 on several events including multiple career panels (2015, 2016, 2017) , alumni events, and more.

About the HNC Fellowships


The Hopkins-Nanjing Center (HNC) is a bilingual graduate program of international studies, jointly administered by Johns Hopkins University and Nanjing University in China. The HNC offers graduate coursework that elevates your Chinese language proficiency as it prepares you for a career related to international relations. The HNC guarantees fellowships for all students who apply by our February 1 deadline. This year, we are excited to announce our Student Leader Fellowship for alumni (or current leaders) of Project Pengyou Chapters! Our fellowships include:

  • Student Leader Fellowship: Students who have successfully completed one year as a Project Pengyou Chapter Leader or completed one year in the US-China Strong Ambassador Program completed by the time of enrollment at the HNC are eligible for this $10,000 fellowship.
  • US-China Exchange Scholars Fellowship: Students who have completed a US-government sponsored Chinese language program (for example: Critical Language Scholarship, Boren Fellowship, Gilman International Scholarship) are eligible for this $10,000 fellowship.
  • Young Professionals in China Fellowship: This $10,000 fellowship will be awarded to a limited number of students who have spent at least 12 months working full-time in Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, or Macao in any field.
  • International Scholar Fellowship: Full-tuition fellowship awarded to an international student (non-US citizen or dual citizen) enrolling in any of the HNC programs in Fall 2018.
