AmCham China is looking for Communication interns. Applicants must be enrolled in college or graduate school during the internship. Expats and Chinese nationals are welcome to apply.

Overview

Job Description

Communications Intern (Digital and PR)
*Develop website content
*Assist with AmCham China announcements and events
*Assist with multimedia resources (podcasts, photos and possible video)
*Proofreading and formatting of site content
*Help to coordinate social networking sites
*Research best communications practices of other chambers 
*Support Business Now content development 
*Support Communications Department staff on projects as needed

Required skills:
*Experience in writing and editing
*Healthy interest in social networking sites
*Knowledge of multimedia platforms (i.e. podcasting)
*Proficiency with web-based tools
*Familiarity with web editing and multimedia software
*English-Chinese translation skill is a must

Communications Intern (Magazine)
NOTE, applicants must also submit a writing sample from a published work (magazine, blog) or academic writing (no more than 3,000 words).

*Pitch and develop articles
*Transcribe and fact-check interviews
*Write summaries of chamber events
*Take and organize photos from chamber events
*Copyedit and proofread magazine
*Support Communications Department staff on projects as needed

Required skills:
*Experience in writing and editing in an engaging, journalistic style
*Ability to meet deadlines
*Familiarity with using style guides, preferably Associated Press style
*Ability to work effectively on a team
*Familiarity with Adobe InDesign desired, but not required
