Job Description
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the China Communications Director, implement an impactful communication strategy in China using traditional as well as social media channels and platforms.
Develop and implement digital strategies in China for all PI programs; coordinating with program leaders as well as Communications team on social media posts, guidelines, identity, key messages, etc.
Design, write and post content to social media channels, including Weibo, WeChat, LinkedIn, Toutiao, and other relevant platforms.
Draft Chinese content for website or publication, including promotional materials, annual report, press releases, blogposts, etc. Help manage a robust website.
Support China Communications Director on media relationships and events, including but not limited to press conferences, media roundtables, one-on-one interviews, etc., including development of related materials.
Assist in the development of metrics to measure and evaluate the impact of communications work in China; prepare reports.
Monitor social media channels for engagement of/response to audiences; Track and report on Chinese media coverage of the Paulson Institute.
Continuously optimize content and media tools; Stay abreast of and implement social media best practices and tools.
Design and manage the distribution of internal and external e-newsletters
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Native Chinese speaker and highly proficient in English, able to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Minimum 5 years of experience in communications, journalism or a related field, with a strong background in digital or social media
Highly proficient with multiple media platforms, web analytics tools, and email marketing tools
Excellent writing and research skills
Technical skills, such as WordPress, SEO, data visualization, multimedia
Interest in or knowledge of China-US relations and sustainability preferred
