Determined to eliminate injustice and promote equality, Amnesty International is at the forefront of human rights advocacy. But to maximise awareness on a global level, we need to maintain a single and consistent voice. By co-ordinating translation requests across the East Asia region, you’ll help us share vital information.
About the role:
This role is key in the development and implementation of Amnesty International’s Chinese language digital strategy. Working as part of the Content Team in the East Asia regional office based in Hong Kong, you will be involved in the ongoing development, coordination and execution of a Chinese language online strategy, and digital activism strategy with multiple stakeholders. You will originate, translate, commission and manage multimedia content for use across Amnesty International’s Chinese digital communication channels, and grow engagement with target audiences through digital channels and relevant social media networks.
About you:
You will need to be fluent in both spoken and written English and Chinese, and enjoy working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders. You will have awareness and understanding of mainland China’s general news and current affairs issues, and familiarity with Chinese cyberspace, including popular social platforms and online limitations. You will have working experience in creating and managing digital content, and with audience mapping and strategy development. Working knowledge of media technologies and formats, including with graphics editing software and audio-visual editing tools is required, and experience with content management systems (CMS) is highly desired. You’re likely to have experience of working in Asia Pacific, and ideally already living in Hong Kong.
About us:
Our aim is simple: an end to human rights abuses. Independent, international and influential, we campaign for justice, freedom and truth wherever they’re denied. Already our network of over three million members and supporters is making a difference in 150 countries. And whether we’re applying pressure through powerful research or direct lobbying, mass demonstrations or online campaigning, we’re all inspired by hope for a better world. One where human rights are respected and protected by everyone, everywhere.
Closing date: 19th April, 2015.
