Required Skills:
The successful candidate ought to be able to demonstrate excellent analytical and writing skills in public and industrial organizations. Background in any of political science, public administration, business administration, and energy sciences is required. Besides, other core competencies include:

• Linguistic requirements:
o High level of English and Chinese language proficiency
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and manage time;
• Strong sense of customer service;
• Good organizational skills;
• Able to work under pressure and to accept criticism and work positively under diverse demands from multiple clients;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Word) is a requirement;
• Government experience a plus;
• Life sciences, engineering and/or technical background a plus;
• Experience working in a team a plus.

 

Job Details:
Intern of US-China Energy Cooperation Program
Location: US-China Energy Cooperation Program – CHINA, Beijing 
Reports to: Operations Team
Duration: Jan–June, 2015, with the possibility for extension
Allowance: the position is uncompensated, although there is a minimum stipend to help cover transportation and lunch.
Hours of duty: Full-time (average: 40 hours/week)
Office Hours: Monday – Friday/0900-1730 hrs.

Note – actual hours worked may exceed the weekly average when/if occasions arise when an urgent/critical task requires such.

Overall responsibilities:

1. Provide the ECP Secretariat with program support, including
o Carry out desk research under guidance of the program team, mainly focusing on government policies and regulations related to clean energy industry in China, US and other related markets related to ECP’s business development activities;
o Help develop government and industrial relations stakeholder charts and other documents to facilitate day-to-day work;
o Assist the program team to write industry reports related to ECP’s business development projects;
o Other miscellaneous tasks upon request. 

2. Provide the ECP Secretariat with operational and event support, including:
o support and assistance in maintaining ECP website;
o facilitation and support of member company communications, event and project follow-up, information consolidation;
o assurance of prompt and accurate communications between ECP Secretariat and member companies and working groups;
o ECP event (external) organization, coordination and logistics;
o ECP internal meeting arrangements, minute-taking and dissemination;
o ECP and bi-lateral government event and relationship support as directed by the ECP Secretariat;
o Support of Working Group tasks/activities, including mission delegations to the U.S., technical workshop preparation and staging, etc.
o Occasional translation and interpretation work.
