The Dragon Trip is China’s fastest growing travel company and provides high quality yet affordable backpacker tours to China. Our young and dynamic team is spread across offices in Shanghai, Beijing, London and San Francisco. We are now looking for Tour guides in multiple cities (Individual location details below):

Responsibilities:

·         Guide our English speaking customers and make sure they visit all the places on the itinerary

·         Communicate knowledge about the places that the customers visit and tell the customers about the area’s history, culture and stories

·         Ensure that customers are collected from the station on time and dropped off on time

·         Take customers for group meals each day; order and translate for them and take into account special dietary requirements.

·         Be friendly, open and respectful to all your customers

·         Present yourself in an appropriate manner and always wear the endorsed Dragon Trip clothing

·         Submit accurate finance sheets and make sure that you can keep trips to budget

·         Ensure that customers are safe at all times and that you have a first aid kit and information about local hospitals and knowledge of the risk assessment of activities and accommodation.

·         Explain to customers about the way The Dragon Trip works and provide information about the other destinations.

Competencies Required:

·         Communication: Lead a group and explain information about the areas that are visited in an engaging manner

·         Organised: Able to ensure that customers are always aware of information and the trip runs to time

·         Safety conscious: Realise the importance of safety and place safety as a number one priority at all times

·         Punctual: Arrive at all meeting points 10 minutes before the allotted time

·         Friendly: Speak to all the customers and be open and friendly at all times

·         Knowledgeable: Express a clear knowledge about all the places and tourist sites

·         Flexible: Able to think on your feet, take responsibility for your own decisions, and calmly deal with all issues

·         Passionate: Have a love for travel

Tour Guide in Hong Kong/Macau

Duration: March 10th – November 21st 2015

Hours: 2 days guiding a week and a pre-departure briefing every Tuesday

Location: Hong Kong and Macau

Compensation:

·         Base Salary of 4500rmb after tax and insurance (dependent on experience)

·         A bonus package of 500rmb per month based on performance

Terms:

·         Directly reporting to the Trip Operations Manager

·         Two days training to be provided by the company in Shanghai, all accommodation and transport costs to be paid for the training

 

Tour Guide in Yangshuo

Duration: 
1. March 10th – May 18th 2015
2. May 24th – August 16th 2015
3. August 13th – October 31st 2015
(Please specify which time frame you are interested in on your application)

Hours: 4 days guiding a week plus 1 day of management

Location: Yangshuo

Compensation:

·         International Flights and Transportation to Yangshuo

·         All accommodation

·         A weekly food allowance of 300 RMB

·         Insurance

·         Visa fee

·         Dragon Trip clothing

Terms:

·         Directly reporting to the Trip Operations Manager

·         Pre departure training to be provided in home country and additional training in Yangshuo

 

 

Tour Guide in Xian

Duration: 15th July- 5th September 2015

Hours: 4 days guiding a week

Location: Xi’an

Compensation:

·         International Flights

·         All accommodation

·         A weekly allowance of 300 RMB

·         Insurance

·         Visa fee

·         Dragon Trip clothing

Terms:

·         Directly reporting to the Trip Operations Manager

·         Pre departure training to be provided in home country and additional training in Shanghai and Fujian

 

 

Tour Guide in Beijing

Duration: 20th July- 11th September 2015

Hours: 4 days guiding a week

Location: Beijing

Compensation:

·         International Flights

·         All accommodation

·         A weekly allowance of 300 RMB

·         Insurance

·         Visa fee

Terms:

·         Directly reporting to the Trip Operations Manager

Hours: 5 days guiding a week

Location: Shanghai and Fujian
