The Nepal RISE Campaign is a global effort to raise awareness, funds, and support for the communities and people affected by Nepal Earthquake with events happening in Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, San Francisco, and more. All funds raised through Nepal RISE in Hong Kong will go to the Hong Kong Red Cross, who are currently on the ground in Nepal. Pengyous can get involved in the following three ways:

1. Encourage your Pengyous to participate in our online campaign by donating to the cause and/or submitting an image that captures “the spirit of Nepal”, along with your personal message of support which will be sent to affected communities in Nepal to show our support and lift spirits.
2. Help us spread the word about this campaign to your friends and networks through social media and email! (See an example from one of our Bangkok school partners NIST.)
3. Organize student-led fundraising events at your schools. We have toolkits to print posters, t-shirt designs, and flyers. Funds raised may be submitted online at the end of the 2-week period (Friday 15 May) on our online campaign page, and you will be able to see your total donated.

Backstory: After the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, a rapid fundraising campaign was initiated in Beijing and Hong Kong called Haiti RISE. It successfully raised people’s awareness of the plight of the Haitian people and fundraised USD 61,473 that went directly to Partners In Health’s efforts in rebuilding Haiti. These funds were then matched by the Gates Foundation increasing the total amount donated to over USD 120,000. The Jump! Foundation is attempting to create a similar impact through Nepal RISE.
