Project Pengyou Holiday Newsletter

Check out what’s been happening at Project Pengyou in 2012….

Dear Friends,

How time flies! It feels like only yesterday we all gathered in a historic Peking Opera Theater to hear pioneering stories of Americans in China.

– WHAT’S NEW –

It’s been a great year for us at Project Pengyou.  We have had some wonderful summer events and new developments on the site. Over the last few months, we expanded our team and unveiled the first major upgrade to the Project Pengyou site.  The new release includes a searchable database of institutions that serve as lynchpins of the global China alumni network. Now with a new Pengyou tech team in place, we will be hard at work to make faster and better improvements to the site.  Stay tuned for more upgrades in the new year!

– THANK YOU –

We really want to thank all of you, our pengyous, for your support and shared belief in our cause. We are so grateful to our advisors and friends who donated their time, expertise and connections to help us build our capacity this year.

A special thanks to Deloitte, who made a $30,000 donation and will also be advising to ensure integrity in our financial management systems while we expand. We’d also like to recognize the Ford Foundation, our founding donor, who continues to play a crucial role in our work and in supporting the missions of the 100,000 Strong Initiative.

– WHY NOW –

We believe that Project Pengyou is unlike other online platforms out there.  Our community has a special purpose – to build constructive, peaceful and positive relations between the people of the United States and China.  We know that it will not be easy to realize our mission, but we believe that there is no more important time to do this.

There is still a lot of work ahead, but we hope you will continue to stand with us in 2013.  Thank you all and happy holidays from the hutongs!

Team Pengyou
