The Project Pengyou chapter at the University of Colorado Boulder celebrated Pengyou Day with multi-cultural games, Chinese tea ceremonies and calligraphy lessons!
Held on a Thursday during the State Department’s International Education Week, our inaugural Pengyou Day was a rousing success. With the help of our nationwide Project Pengyou chapter teams as well as our signature partners, Asia Society and the Committee of 100, we celebrated building friendships between Americans and Chinese while trying to deepen engagement and mutual understanding through the launch of simultaneous events across the country!
The Valpo Chapter celebrated Pengyou Day by hosting an interactive booth including learning how to write Chinese characters, eating dumplings and also a presentation about the various study abroad programs in China the school has to offer! See the blog post for highlights from the event!
The first annual #Pengyou Day was held on November 20, 2014. In conjunction with the U.S. State Department’s International Education Week, Project Pengyou Campus Chapters and Asia Society Confucius Classrooms across the nation simultaneously launched events and social media campaigns to celebrate US-China study, engagement, and friendship.
Texas is an area where study abroad, especially to China, is considered underrepresented. Our Project Pengyou Leadership Fellows, Leslie Martinez and Jorge Dimas, are working to change that at their home university, Texas A&M International University (TAMIU).
Our new Grinnell College Project Pengyou Leadership Fellows were recently given a voice in their school news organization, the Scarlet & Black. Awesome work Grinnell Fellows! We’re excited to see your goals supported and your accomplishments recognized by your university!
