Welcome to Project Pengyou! Our goal is to build a global community of Americans who have lived and studied in China.
Please bear in mind that Project Pengyou is a nonprofit, mission-driven platform that seeks to promote an amiable relationship between the United States and China. As such, we will not allow any content that could jeopardize our long-term missions. Basically, be kind.
By using this site and its services, you agree to abide by the following rules. If you violate any of these terms and conditions, we reserve the right to suspend or revoke your account.
You alone are responsible for the content that you create. Please adhere to existing laws and regulations regarding digital publishing, intellectual property and Internet ethics.

By visiting Project Pengyou, you are entering into the following agreement:
1. WHAT WE ARE PROMISING
a. The right to use our site and its services on your own behalf or on behalf of any entity you represent. You also possess the right to cease using our site or its services at any time.
b. The rights to all the content that you create, including forum posts and comments. This content should not violate any domestic or international laws.
c. To keep the information you submit to us private unless you agree to share it. We will not use your private information for anything other than data collection to better understand the community.
d. To do our best to keep Project Pengyou and your private information safe, but you are also responsible for protecting your account and information.
2. WHAT YOU ARE PROMISING
a. To use Project Pengyou responsibly and in a professional manner.
b. Not to use the name, logo, or services of Project Pengyou for personal financial gain or for any purpose that jeopardizes the mission of the site.
c. Not to violate the community rules of Project Pengyou. If you violate said rules, we reserve the right to suspend or revoke your account.
d. That you are at least 13 years old, and if you are less than 18 years old, your parent or legal guardian has agreed to stand behind this agreement.
e. That the content you provide Project Pengyou is content that you have a right to provide. By publishing content on Project Pengyou, you are granting us a license to publish said content.
f. That we are not responsible for any damage that may occur as a result of your using Project Pengyou. We do not guarantee the truthfulness or accuracy of user-generated content; nor do we endorse any opinions expressed by users via the website.
3. OTHER RIGHTS WE RESERVE
a. The right to discontinue or modify our services in any way at any time without notice.
b. The right to monitor, delete, or modify content on the site, including user content and user accounts, in any way at any time without notice.
c. The right to deny membership for any reason.
d. The right to collect and analyze information regarding your use of Project Pengyou. This information belongs solely to Project Pengyou and by using our services you consent to the collection of such information.
4. DISPUTES
Project Pengyou is under no obligation to resolve disputes that arise between you and anyone else.
5. ENDING THESE TERMS
The terms of this agreement will remain in effect until either Project Pengyou or you terminate them. You may terminate this agreement by closing your account and deleting all your content from the site.
6. COMMUNITY RULES
Members of the Project Pengyou community will not:
a. Publish any content that might be deemed offensive, profane, pornographic or otherwise objectionable;
b. Defame, libel, threaten, intimidate, harass, ridicule, abuse, flame or troll others;
c. Attempt to trick, deceive, defraud, mislead or spam others;
d. Violate any domestic or international laws.
Project Pengyou moderators will be the final arbiter of what is acceptable; their decisions are final.
