The US-China Comedy Center Bringing Laughter to the Project Pengyou Courtyard for the Holidays
It’s been almost two months since the launch of the US-China Comedy Center at the Project Pengyou Courtyard, and it has received an overwhelmingly positive response! During weeknights, the courtyard has been buzzing with improv, stand-up and comedy workshops – all in both Chinese and English.
What is improv exactly?
“Improv” is short for improvised – the comedic shows have no props and no script. Performers get inspirations from audience members and use them to make a unique show. The weekly improv workshop has become so popular that Jesse and co. are planning on adding a second level for more advanced players (more information on that TBA!). There was even a special guest appearance of the infamous foreign comedian DaShan at a show.
Here are some photo highlights from the past few months:
We love that the courtyard is being filled with Chinese, Americans, and people from all around the world who can laugh together in two languages. Interested to join the fun? Follow the Comedy Center on wechat and come to one of the many events throughout the week:
