Pioneer Journeys – Project Pengyou Launch Event

To celebrate the initial launch of Project Pengyou, we hosted our official launch event at the historic Zhengyici Theater in Beijing. The theme of the evening was “Pioneer Journeys.”
Along with our guest of honor, Ambassador Gary Locke, the speakers included U.S.–China pioneers like Kaiser Kuo, director of international communications at Baidu and 15-year China veteran, and Jason Patent, American co-director of the Hopkins-Nanjing Center who first came to China in 1991.
The 10 speakers recounted to a full house the events that brought them to China and the lessons they’ve learned. It was an inspiring and emotional evening that captured the essence of our site and mission.
