On June 21, Columbia Summer in China invites you to a public talk by Professor Thomas Talhelm, assistant professor of behavioral science and William Ladany Faculty Scholar at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, sharing his studies on how culture affects the way customers behave.

Professor Thomas Talhelm studies how culture affects the way we behave. One of his recent major projects was studying how rice and wheat agriculture have given northern and southern China two very different cultures. His research has appeared in a variety of publications including Science, Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, and Current Directions in Psychological Science.

Professor Yuhuang Zheng graduated from Columbia University with his Ph.D. degree in marketing. He is currently Associate Professor of Marketing and Faculty Director of the Marketing Department Doctoral Program at the School of Economics and Management (SEM) and Research Fellow at the China Business Research Center, Tsinghua University. Previously he was on the faculty at Fordham University School of Business (New York) and has marketing and strategic planning experiences at Motorola and Compaq.
