Please join us for an open dialogue with Professor Tao Ran as he shares his opinions on prospects for a successful economic transition.

Please join us for an open dialogue with Professor Tao Ran as he shares his opinions on prospects for a successful economic transition.

Tao Ran is a nonresident senior fellow of the foreign policy program at the Brookings Institution, professor at the Renmin University School of Economics, and vice dean of the National Academy of Development and Strategy. A specialist on the Chinese economy, he has published on the political economy of China’s economic transition, land and household registration reform, and local governance and public finance in rural China. His research has appeared most recently in Journal of Comparative Economics, Journal of Development Studies, Land Economics, Urban Studies, Political Studies, China Quarterly and Land Use Policy.
