Philanthropy in Motion (PIM) is a social enterprise that provides young people with the funds, educational training, and networks to become intelligent givers.
We are founded in 2013 by a team of graduates from Yale, Harvard, Cornell, and Peking University. Using the philanthropic education model developed at Yale and other leading American universities as a basis, we design programs and services that allow young people to evaluate and allocate crowd-funded donations to China-based organizations.
Our funds are raised from young people around the world and then managed by a select group of students and young professionals that we train through our programs. By doing so, PIM aims to be a young people’s foundation that mobilizes resources to support causes that represent the next generation’s interests in a more strategic and effective manner. Model Foundation is a two-month program that provides students with the unique opportunity to act as philanthropists and practice intelligent giving. The program includes three components:
• Online philanthropy training
• Grantmaking conference at The University of Hong Kong
• Service project and internship opportunities
