Ping Pong Productions’ artist Gu Jiani is a powerful female choreographer from China. Known for her athletic, aggressive performances, she is a rising star in the contemporary dance world. This summer, Gu is invited to perform in Seattle, San Fran, LA & NYC.

As China’s economy develops, the rest of the world still hasn’t seen the breadth of creative voices and innovative artists who are emerging! This tour is a first-time opportunity for American audiences on the West Coast to see one of China’s most exciting new dance companies.

Gu Jiani is a powerhouse choreographer from China’s spicy Sichuan Province. She trained in Chinese classical dance and ballet, but rejected those forms and now creates her own unique works guerrilla style in spaces across Beijing.

Her duet Right & Left explores the meaning of human relationships, looking at why we fall in love, and how we keep those relationships from destroying who we are.
