Xinjiang Uygur dance (Uyghur) has very rich western dance style which combined folk music. Uygur dance form for thousands of years of history into three broad categories: labor dance, religious ritual dance of life and love. Clothing attire and open action expression, to the spread of Islam Uygur dance costumes and moves slowly over time the evolution of the development of a more conservative.

And Uygur dance art event at bookworm will include the following:

• Minority dance pictures, music and video display
• Live dance demonstration and dance workshop
• Introduction of Xinjiang minority: history, language, cultural…
• Introduction of music, dance and dress style: instrument, rhythm, characteristic, geographical features, style, rhythm characteristic… different parts of the dance costumes, the decorative pattern on the dress, hat…

The lecture will be presented by Seyyare Tashbaywa.  She was born in  Xinjiang and graduated from Xinjiang Academy of Art and she is a professional stage director, drama director, choreography, and dance teacher.
