From May 9th through June 11th, the second annual Chinese Lantern Festival will be held at Franklin Square in Philadelphia. More than 90,000 people from every U.S. state and 10 countries attended this festival last year. This year will feature 29 new handcrafted lanterns, which will all fill the historic park with light each night.
Beyond just the lanterns, the festival will include food, craft markets, music, and other activities celebrating Asian culture.

Admission to Franklin Square will be free during the day. Starting at 6:00 p.m. and concluding at 10:00 PM, the Chinese Lantern Festival becomes a ticketed event at $17 for adults, $15 for seniors and military personnel and $12 for visitors ages 3-17. Entry to the festival is free for children under 2.
