Last month, representatives from nearly 200 nations traveled to Paris to negotiate an international agreement to address the global threat of climate change. In this panel discussion, four professionals who attended the COP 21 conference will share their impressions on the negotiations and their expectations about their future work in China.

In this panel discussion, four professionals who attended the COP 21 conference will share their impressions on the negotiations and their expectations about their future work in China.
Alvin Lin is the China Climate and Energy Policy Director at Natural Resource Defense Council’s Beijing office, focusing on analysis and policy advocacy around China’s climate and clean energy policies. His work covers a broad range of issues, including addressing the environmental impacts of coal and shale gas development, promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy, strengthening nuclear power safety regulation, and improving air pollution policies and laws.
Renato Roldao is the Lead Managing Consultant – Climate Change at ICF International, Beijing, with twelve years of working experience in the fields of Climate Change and Energy & Environment. He was Team Leader of the EuropeAid Project “Supporting the Design and Implementation of Emissions Trading Systems in China”. He is a respected expert in Carbon Markets and Climate Change Mitigation issues and has been living and working in China for over 8 years.
Mei Lan currently serves as Executive Director at China Youth Climate Action Network, a local non-profit working with youth to address climate change. She is one of the 2015 Professional Fellows sponsored by the National Committee of US-China Relations. In the past, she has worked with the Environment Law Project at NRDC, and at the Joint US-China Collaboration on Clean Energy as a Project Manager focusing on sustainable city and government training.
Stian Reklev is a co-founder of Carbon Pulse, a market news and intelligence service covering the global carbon markets. He covered international emissions trading and climate change policies for Point Carbon and Reuters for over a decade before Carbon Pulse was launched in March 2015. He has been based in Beijing since 2009.
