Event Details

Mobile technology has had an enormous impact on the global economy. The Boston Consulting Group and Qualcomm, Inc. have recently made an in-depth study at this impact, and during this event they will discuss their research, putting a spotlight on China and India as two case study markets.

Speakers: Kirti Gupta, director of Economic Strategy at Qualcomm, Inc. and David Michael, senior partner at Boston Consulting Group

Bios

Kirti Gupta is a director of Economic Strategy at Qualcomm, Inc. where she serves as an in-house economist, specializing on Intellectual Property (IP) and competition policy and strategy. She has also worked on developing economic models for determining Qualcomm’s optimal IP strategy world-wide and on designing algorithms for IP portfolio valuation. Dr. Gupta holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University and a Ph.D. in economics from UC San Diego.

David Michael is a senior partner at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and a research fellow at the 21st Century China Program. He has been working and traveling to Asia for more than two decades and opened BCG’s Shanghai office in 1992. He holds a B.A. in economics from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.
