Event Details
The latest guided-film screening about the fascinating people, cultures and foods that lie beyond China’s big cities, through the eyes of two veteran foreigners in ‘Conquering Southern China’.
Two seasoned Youtube vloggers bike 5000km through the weirdest and wildest back roads of southern China.
Join Winston Sterzel, “The Original China Vlogger,” and his fellow Youtuber, C-Milk, on their epic Southern China adventure. They tackle tough roads, witness breath- taking scenery, sample weird food and meet intriguing locals along the way. This is China like you’ve never seen it before.
From eating cat, snake and chicken hotpot in Guangdong, chomping down on fried hornets in Hunan, riding through the stunning Karst mountains of Guanxi; meeting women with the longest hair in the world in Guilin, or sampling cow dung in Guizhou. This four-part adventure travel show showcases a side of China that many foreigners and locals never knew existed.
At Culture Yard you’ll watch two-full episodes of the documentary series. Afterward, the filmmakers, Ricardo Afonso and Mark Masterton, will talk you through the behind-the-scenes story that unfolded during the making of this entirely self-funded project, Conquering Southern China.
